Holiday trends 2020
Are you looking forward to the summer vacation already? In a few months time most Dutchies pack up their things and start traveling again. Many people go to France with their caravan or rent a tent in Italy, but there are also more inspiring places to spend your vacation. These are the holiday trends of 2020!
Tanzania: African wilderness
Although South Africa is the most obvious holiday destination when you book a vacation in southern Africa, Tanzania is becoming increasingly popular. It is located north of Mozambique, south of Kenya and east of Congo. Tanzania is situated next to the Indian Ocean, so you can really enjoy a few days at the beach. In Tanzania you will find the Kilimanjaro: the highest mountain in Africa. Furthermore, the country is of course fantastic if you want to see real wild animals. For example, go to Serengeti National Park. Who knows, you might spot the Big Five!
Jordan: red landscapes
You probably know Jordan mainly because of Petra: the historic city with the famous ruins, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You enter the city through narrow gorges and end up in a valley in the hills. Although Petra is the best-known city in Jordan, the country had a lot more to offer: from red sand dunes to the famous Dead Sea. Also pay a visit one of the Arabian markets with their deliciously scented spices. Although Jordan is in a troubled area (between Israel, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia), the country is relatively safe.
Lapland: for breathtaking beauty
If you don't like the cold, then Lapland is probably not the best destination for you. But if the endless vistas with snow, the Northern Lights, reindeer, a cozy stay in a wooden cabin and a ride on the husky sled do appeal to you, then Lapland is an amazing choice. You will be travelling pretty far, but in the end it’s all worth it! With one of the countless Northern Lights apps you will be kept informed of this spectacular natural phenomenon, so that you will not accidentally sleep through it.
Ireland: luscious green landscape
The cities of Dublin and Galway have long been known by travelers, but more and more people are travelling inlands to see more of Ireland. The country is beautifully green and mountainous, but you can also enjoy the beautiful coastal areas. And another advantage: it is not too far away. If you are travelling to Ireland you can easily combine a city trip to Dublin with a visit to a castle or palace and spend time at one of Mother Nature's wonders at the Cliffs of Moher or the Giant’s Causeway.
